| full time law progam - day student |
There are dorms connected by an underground corridor to the building
where classes are held. The dorms are nice and quite large. They are
somewhat expensive, but a great deal compared to New York City living in
general. First year law students are guaranteed a spot, but upper-class
students must go through a lottery. The campus also houses the graduate
social work and business schools as well as some undergradute programs
(acting, arts). The main campus for Fordham is located in the Bronx,
but the Law School is in Manhattan, at Lincoln Center, which is a very
nice area. There is a lot of shopping nearby. There are also many many
restaurants and bars. There is a large dining hall on the campus. To
get to it from the law school you need to walk through an underground
corridor. The dining hall has many different selections, such as frozen
yogurt, hot dishes that change daily, a salad bar, pizza, hamburgers,
wraps, etc. There are meal plans or you can pay a la carte. There is
also a small snack bar right near the law protion of the campus that has
sushi, pizza, sandwiches, cereal, yogurt, etc. The are where the school
is located is safe for Manhattan, but it is still New York City. There
was one rape in a building nearby that houses the clinics while I was at
school there. The victim was not a Fordham student. That is the only
real crime I heard about while I was there. Many students live off
campus. Those who live on-campus have everything they need without ever
going outside (bookstore, dorms, dining hall, classes).
