Admission & Application Survey |

I would say that since this is a school towards the lower end of the
top-tiered schools [usually ranked around number 30] it's desperate to
climb higher up and so they'll consider first your LSAT and GPA scores -
that isn't saying anything new since competition for entrance these
days is so tough. In addition, they highly favor those undergrads who
come for prestigious east coast schools such as Cornell or Yale - even
if you have a really low GPA from those schools, most likely they'll
take you in since they would like to be known for having those types of
schools be the "feeder" schools for Fordham. However, as with all the
other departments of administration, they're highly de-centralized and
a mismanaged and thus, very disorganized and haphazard in their
processing - the staff being on the lazy side to the point where
materials end up getting 'lost.' Cover all your bases and make sure
there's a way to confirm everything you've sent in; in addition, don't
be shy in calling up and talking directly with the director of
admisions, John Chalmers himself, since if you make yourself known to
him, there's a better chance that your file will be taken care of.
Fordham is a 'safety school' for many students so there's a lot of
slots towards the end of the admissions period that open suddenly as
students take better offers - don't be shy about asking if you can be
put on the waiting list if you get a rejection letter - don't be afraid
of asking for it - lots of students who asked to be placed instead on
the waiting list were accommodated when that request was put directly
to John Chalmers who is one of the few with that authority - if you ask
a staff member, there's nothing that they can do about it.
