Employment Prospects Survey
Full-time law program Cornell holds a three day job fair in New York City in early August. Every firm in New York is there, as well as, most of the national firms. If you are in the top half of the class, you will get several call backs from this process. Cornell has a good reputation among employers. Obviously, there are hundreds of Cornell grads working in all of the major law firms in NYC. Cornell has a good reputation there. I think that the Cornell advantage might be even stronger in the Midwest and West. The reputation is strong in these areas, but there are so few Cornell law grads practicing outside the I-95 area, that you are something of a prize. So law firms can add another top law school to their office roster. The career placement office does a pretty good job of bringing in law firms to Ithaca to recruit. There are also several symposia offered to help match non-profit organizations with students.
