| Full-time law program |
Columbia organizes an "Early Interview Program" the week before classes start
for 2L's and 3L's. This allows you to relax and not stress about classes while
you are interviewing. The program runs very smoothly with law firms coming from
all corners of the globe to interview students.
Career Services is good at helping you narrow down choices and get good firms on
your list. I would have to say that if you want to be in New York after
graduation, you are at a distinct advantage. If you don't, the Career Services
office has little to offer you.
That having been said, with mediocre grades, I have been able to secure a job at
my top choice firm for the summer of 2003. The Columbia name goes far in the
legal community and interviewing in New York for a New York job makes the
process
that much easier.
New York is the place to practice law and having the law school here in the city
puts Columbia students at a great advantage.
