No on-campus housing. Lots of local options for reasonable rents,
especially if you share. Parking at the school is a real problem, and
very expensive, but there are plently of apartments within walking
distance.
Public transportation in Cleveland is horrible and limited, so having a
car is a good idea.
The law school facilities are spotty-the library is horrendous (dark,
smelly, and limited), and the librarians are truly incompetent.
Most study at home or in the undergrad library, which is beautiful and
spacious.
Restaurant options are also extremely limited--there is a small
restaurant in the law school, and some fast food stalls in the main
student building. Nearby is a coffee shop, a middle eastern restaurant,
and a deli.
There is a certain level of crime--it's on the edge of a pretty poverty
stricken area, and I imagine that the fairly well-off and generally
sheltered students are easy pickin's. But compared to other urban
colleges, it's not bad.
In University Circle, right near the school, are some great small
museums, which are lovely and free, including the Cleveland Museum of
Art, The Natural History Museum, Historical Society, Bontanical Gardens,
etc. And Severance Hall, a beautiful concert hall.
For shopping, there are malls in the suburbs, or one downtown.
