Quality of Life Survey |
| Full Time Law Program |
There is no on campus housing or campus. Most students didn't live close
to the building b/c it wasn't in a safe part of town. The building is
part of the Capital University but the main campus is about 8 miles
away. The Law School is right downtown by Grant Hospital-a major trauma
unit in Ohio. So there are a ton of ambulances and life flight
helicopters interupting library study time. There is a high crime rate
too. A couple times during law school, homeless people came into the
school and sat in with classes or hid out in the library. They began
locking the school 24 hours a day after Sept 11th (we were given 24 hour
access with a key card).
The building itself is only 5 years old but the classrooms are not
soundproof. Taking tests became a challenge when people were gathering
in the hall to discuss the tests they just left.
The Original Wendy's is a block away and subway is close by. We have a
cafeteria which serves coffee, bagels, sandwiches cookise and has a
daily lunch special. There are microwaves for your convenience and a
frig-but food gets stolen out of it often.
They have an in house counselor who refers everyone to the campus
doctor. They work together and prescribe everyone they see with anti-
depressants or ritalin so beware if you get upset one day in front of a
professor or mention to anyone that you feel overwhelmed. :)
