New Haven has a number of excellent restaurants and cultural activities,
largely sponsored by the university. The social life for graduate
students is lively, with a student-run bar and a number of activities
(almost every night) sponsored by the graduate school. The attitude is
friendly and many of my closest friends came from other scientific
departments, clear on the other side of campus. I think that my
interaction with students, and faculty, in other departments was quite
unusual at other universities, but typical for Yale. It was an amazing
place to spend 5 years!!
