There are some good restaurants in town such as BRAVO, Black Swan,
Aladin, Roadhouse etc and nice malls to shop. The downtown is small and
after the work hours is almost empty, but most of the students hang out
in bars.
A perfect getaway is a weekend in South Haven (Michigan Lake) which is
45 minutes from the town and also Sant Joseph beach. Also, Chicago is
only 3 hours away and Detroit 2.5 hours.
There are lots of international students association and every year they
have Food festival where each association bring the ethnic dishes and
raise money for their causes.
Dating is among students. The environment is so friendly and you can
meet a lot of people from different countries. I met my husband in this
school.
Even though Kalamazoo is not a big city and doesn't have the excitments
that a big city offers, still is an excellent environment for studying
and having a quite nice student life. The only downsize is Winter which
is really cold and with a lots of snow...
