Penn has "GAPSA"--the Graduate and Professional Students Association--
that sponsers social events to foster mixing of folks from different
graduate programs. In addition, the School of Design sponsors a weekly
Happy Hour with beer and prezels on Friday night. Happy Hour is a great
way to get to know classmates and other folks from different design
programs.
