There is certainly an undergraduate social life. Graduate students
who largely are commuter students with full time jobs do
occasionally meet for after-class coffee, drinks, or light meals on
campus or off. There is a small coffee shop on campus in the
student union along with a newish food court and pub. In the small
town of Orono there are pizza shops, ice cream shops, coffee
shops, Mexican and Thai restaurants. There is a wonderful farmer's
market in the summer and fall.
