I lived off-campus but was an employee of the University. Housing is a
huge issue for students at GW due to its central location in DC so that
development opportunities are strictly limited by local and community
level restrictions. Some new additional housing has been built. I
believe it is adequate at this time. The campus is minutes from the
White House and other signficiant landmarks, many of which are free.
Crime and safety are not big issues on the campus, but a good presence
of university police and other safety features (call buttons for
example) exist around the campus. The foggy bottom neighorhood is an
older established neighborhood that is relatively quiet in terms of
crime. The university upgraded it food court signficiant and many local
restaurants surround the campus.
