I think the program that I applied to was really looking for a diverse group of
people with varying strengths and weaknesses. I can only guess this because
looking at my background, which is heavy in intern/work experience and light on
the grades, there is NO WAY I would have gotten into this extremely selective
program. In the future, I'm sure my career prospects will be much better than
what it was before. In my field, a PhD definitely gives you an up on the career
prospects, salary, and prestige at this point in time. Hopefully when I get out,
it'll still be the same.
