The degree is quite prestigeous for oil companies internationally.
However the oil industry is deceiving for career prospects. Oil companies make
lots of money but are very focused in cost control when hiring and in career
development. Quite difficult to get a job in a good oil company because they
recruit in a very conservative way. Tend to keep salaries low and its difficult
to get promoted quickly because lots of bureaucracy and layers of intermediate
bosses.
