Employment Prospects Survey |
| MLIS Program |
Currently there are a lot of jobs available for graduates. The school personnal
post (via a listserv) both available jobs and internships in all areas of the
state. One of the student organizations sponsors job fairs once or twice a year.
I have heard that the prestige isn't the best with employers. UCLA or some of the
Library schools back east have more prestige but this is a good school and one
can do well if they apply themselves. I think the key is getting as much
experience as possible. I have not heard of career placement resources on campus
for this major. I would have to say between the job listserv and the other job
sites on the internet there is pleanty of opportunities to find a job. The
biggest problem is relocation. To really apply oneself as a Librarian that person
has to be willing to go where ever there is a job.
