Career opps vary based on field of specialization. There are 4: Domestic
Policy, Development (NGO, Third World), Quant (Econ/Stats), and International
Relations.
Domestic and Development people have more structured internship/job
opportunities (DC, World Bank, NGOs, etc). Those in the other fields have to
fend for themselves, esp. if they want to consider private sector jobs (Wall
Street, consulting).
On campus recruiting is not good for the WWS. Focus by on campus recruiters is
the undergrad population. Often don't know what to make of the MPAs.
Prestige w/employers: v. good with the NGOs, US government, Foreign Service, and
Intl Orgs. Less with private sector employers
