Pratt is a commuter school so housing was not really an issue. Most
people lived elsewhere in the city and commuted to school after work and
then went home. The campus itself was nice enough but the neighborhood
around it was a bit sketchy at the time. After class, people would walk
in groups to the subway and I don't ever recall anyone ever getting into
an incident. The area has since improved greatly so this may not be as
much of an issue anymore. Facilites at the time weren't great - small
desks, not enough computers but most of the library program has shifted
to new spaces in lower Manhattan (around Houston street I believe). This
is a much better area from a safety standpoint, easier to commute to and
since the only food offered at the school that late in the day was
vending machines, better food choices in the area!
