Career prospects are excellent coming from Pratt. It is one of the few remaining
library schools in NY City and I would say the majority of librarians are either
alumni or are very familiar with the school and it is held in high regard by
both. The library community is very small and looks out for its own so Pratt
grads are in good shape. Again, the school strongly encourages working in
libraries and they have internships and job placement programs. When I was there,
I never had on campus recruiting but the school was actively involved with
LLAGNY, the Law Library Association of New York and with NY Public Library, and
sponsored events or seminars with both entities to give students exposure to
careers in those areas and to employers.
