Medill doesn't beat around the bush, you're there to get a job. Professors
constantly make references to what it is like in the 'real world.' The career
office sends out weekly emails of internships and entry-level positions. They
also hold on-campus recruiting. The Global Journalism program places students
with real news agencies around the world for a three-month residency, some get
hired full-time. Mostly though, Medill depends on the loyalty of its alums to
keep their internships and entry-level positions open for Medill students.
Illinois-based papers, stations are very familiar with Medill and often extend
job offers to students, but opportunities are available nationwide, and abroad.
