| Masters in Public Administration (full or part time) |
Year after year, Wagner continues to build on its Career Management Office.
Campus recruiting increased significantly over the past 10 years based on demand
in the public sector work place, and the increased awarenesss of the Wagner
degree. Focus on attending the career fairs to gain access to many
organizations. The Director of the Career Office has been working to build
relationships with employers since joining Wagner a few years ago, and as a
result has increated the job and internship opportunities available to Wagner
graduates (and during the Summer between the 2-year program). Students need to
take advantage of the Career office, and not expect offers to jump out of
no-where. Opportunities are out there, but students must take a proactive
approach to this process. Note that many employers are familiar with the
Wagner's MPA program, and some with MPA programs in general. For those employers
that are not familiar, students will have to sell the program and clearly detail
what you have gained from the program (i.e., some of my friends still think I got
an MBA degree - and I do have to remind them what the program was all about).
