There were two bars in the LSE that students would meet at (I can't
remember the names of them). Also, our residence, London House, had a
bar. There are many pubs and social options in London but I found that
most students went to room parties and did things in groups. If I had
it to do over again, I would branch out more and go out to restaurants
and clubs in other parts of the city. I think I stayed too close to
campus and the social options nearby. There is no Greek system there.
Everyone I know loved the restaurant Wagamamas - near Russel Square and
Belgos - which gave entrees at the price equal to the time you arrived
on weeknights between 5 & 7. Arrive at 5:00 pm, pay 5 pounds for
muscles, chicken or one other entree (my memory is rusty).
