Admission & Application Survey |
| MSc. Finance & Economics |
The admissions process at LSE is much simpler than many others that I
encountered while applying for graduate studies. A simple form, ask for
your GRE scores (which can be substituted by GMATs) and that's it. The
essay was pretty simple, asking for your reasons for joining this
course. Given the fact that I wrote something that was completely
irrelevant to the course at the time, it seems not as much emphasis was
placed on this part of the application as it might have been in a US
business school.
Saying that the application processing was a bit problematic,
especially with papers being misplaced, and correspondence left till
the very end.
The course however is extremely selective. Only about 4% of the
applicants got in, so having a good academic background is essential,
however, I am not sure how selective they are in determining the
exposure people might have had to the intense academics, that form an
integral part of this course.
