Several linkage admissions agreements are available that will allow you to enter
med school immediately upon completion of the program. These links are with
George Washington University, Tulane, Drexel, Temple, and Pittsburgh. There has
recently been talk of a new linkage with Brown University SOM, but I am not sure
if this has been finalized. These are excellent options for some people, but
consider carefully. You will decide after matriculating at Goucher whether you
would like to pursue this option.
The advising provided by the program director and assistant director is
first-rate and is really what makes this program shine. The director has been
with the program for approximately 10 years and is very knowledgeable about the
special situations that non-traditional students will face in the application
process. If you use the advisors as resources it will greatly improve your
experience and help you get your money??s worth.
The program will also assist you in setting up a volunteer experience in a local
clinic, hospital, etc. This is highly recommended. If you have little
healthcare experience, take this opportunity to gain some. If you already have
substantial healthcare experience, use this opportunity to gain experience in a
new healthcare setting.
