| Post-baccalaureate Premedical Program |
The program is designed for students who want to apply to medical
school, but have taken none or few of the necessary prerequisite
courses. The application includes the usual stuff (transcripts,
letters of recommendation, resume, personal statement/essay). I would
suggest spending a substantial amount of time on it as applications are
screened thoroughly. Not all applicants are invited to interview. The
interview day typically includes lunch with students, sitting in on a
lecture, and a 60-minute interview with either the director or
assistant director of the program. Total time should be about 3.5
hours. They receive roughly 200 applications for 30 or so slots;
therefore admission is highly selective (3.5 GPA, 1100 SAT - this is a
guess!, I believe they will also look at other standardized test
scores). Some type of volunteer experience in a medical setting will
help as it gives you the opportunity to display your commitment to
medicine.
