The school is located in downtown Boston, which is great for a student
interested in getting into the city. It does not have the secluded feel
of a closed campus school, but instead hums and buzzes with the rhythm
of the city. It was wonderful to walk out of class and have everything
right there within walking distance -- shops, bars, theaters, movies,
the Boston Common, etc. However, along with all the blessings of a city
come its disadvantages -- having to skirt the homeless on your way to
class, etc. Within Emerson, everything was always pristine -- the
facilities in top condition, excellent catering for the dining hall,
and state of the art technology available to all the students. Student
housing is limited, because of Emerson's downtown location, but Boston
is a city where it is easy for a student to find a place to live. The
department of Public Safety is available for the faint of heart, who
feel better with an escort across the commons -- this was especially
useful on those cold, dark winter nights.
