Housing is poor. The Chicago weather, combined with the unfriendly and
unsafe nature of the getto-neighborhood in which the university is
located, all this promote students to stay as long as possible enclosed
in their library cubicles most of the time.
However, once you passed the most critical years (one or two), you can
have a change to taste the cosmopolitan life of the city of Chicago, and
many students even decide to move to a friendlier neighborhood near the
city and far from campus.
