When I applied back in 1994, the selection process was relatively
flexible, compared to other top schools in the field. However, the
internal implicit policy seems to result in a 60% of survival rate by
the end of the program. This rate was in part affected by the high
academic pressure that would discourage continuation on the program, and
in part affected by certain pre-determined quotas regarding the passing
of the core examination applied by the end of the year. Nowadays there
is indication that the system has become more selective in the
acceptance process, but the academic pressure hasn??t changed that much.
