| full-time undergraduate program |
The school has a relatively quiet social life. The campus itself is
quiet almost all the time as is the town. (The town is relatively small
with a real religious feel to it as we have some Amish and Mennonites.)
Most of the partying is done off campus though this is a wet campus.
The honor code is also big here as far as underage drinking so better
to do it off campus. There are a few bars that people go to Norland Pub
( relaxing little place the locals go to), Rob and Dara's (a kind of
hole in the wall in the center of town- but cheap drinks, small dance
floor and great DJ) Dilly's and Razzles and since Shippensburg
University is close by you will find some students going to greek
parties or more to the bars in Shippensburg or another town called
Hagerstown, MD.
The famous restaurants here are Pat and Carla's (great cheap
italian)Mcdonalds, Hoss's steak house, Ryans Buffet and my favorite
Cracker Barrel. There are many other chain restaurants here but mostly
we go to these.
The local towns around us have alot of interesting things going on
at almost all of the year- different fairs, BBQ's, events to keep some
occupied.
The dating scene on campus is relatively quiet. Most people come
here with significant others and graduate with the same ones. Most
people meet someone at the bars or at Ship university if they are
looking for someone.
The school provides alot of trips through out the year and has
special events planned to rid us of the midsemester slumps. Fiesta's,
movie nights, musical groups, etc. These happen all throughout the year
so as not to become to bored. You do need a car on this campus as most
everything is not within walking distance. There is a shuttle provided
but that is only once a week.
There isnt any greek system on campus because the campus is so
small.
