The admissions process is relatively simple and the same as most
schools. You tour the school and send in the application. The school
recommends that you revisit to make sure of your final decision. On the
second visit you will have another interview and my suggestion to you
is to ask the admissions counselor what they loved about the school
(the majority of admissions counselors attended here) and really
explain what it is that you like about the school. Typical interview
questions consist of - what was the hardest life situation you have
dealt with, why do you feel Wilson is for you, what do you feel you
will gain from an all-womens college, etc. The essays for the college
consist of again the typical college essays- describe a difficult life
situation and what you learned from it, etc. but my personal favorite
was the essay asking you to rewrite the ending to the last book you
have read in 500 words or less. I picked that one as I loved the last
book I read but felt the ending should have been rewritten anyway. On
another note the selectivity of the school is moderate on the
Peterson's guide but no matter the grades if you truly want to go to
Wilson, you probably will be able to get in. Just let your admissions
counselor know that you have taken the time to get to know every aspect
of the guidebook, the website and really let them know that you woul
like to go to Wilson. Good Luck.
