The social scene revolves to some extent around house parties hosted by
dorms, where some students drink pretty heavily. There are no
fraternities. There are a couple bars in town which are popular among the
seniors. The dating scene is pretty good. Despite the smallness of the
town, there are many nice restaurants. Overall, it is my impression that
most Williams alumni reflect on their time at Williams as the high point
of their social lives, and many of my closest friends today, five years
after graduation, are my Williams classmates (I believe this is typical
of Williams alumni).
