The campus life at Laurier is outstanding. With another large
university up the street (Waterloo U.) there is a huge number of
students in the area which has attracted a wide selection of bars. For
1st and second year students the most popular off-campus dance bars
include The Revolution, Loose Change Louie's, Phill's, Philthy
McNasty's, and The Elements. Some senior students there is a large
selection of great pubs including The Irish Pub, McMullins, Blooms.
The Flying Dog is also a hotspot for older students and alumni.
The on-campus bars are always busy and the Turret provides junior
students with an excellent dance bar, while Wilf's caters to the
seniors with it's Pub atmosphere. Laurier is definitely a 'party'
school. 1st year students are treated to the #1 Frosh orientation week
in the country. There are many school clubs including The Water
Buffalos which is a social club that focuses on drinking activies, and
fraternities.
There are quite a large number of fast-food restaurants in the area due
to the large number of students. Mel's Diner is a morning favourite
after a night out and they are known for their great breakfast
special. Another cool restaurant is the Mongolian Grill where you
choose your food from a buffet and watch it cook on a large open
grill. If you have a hot date, nicer restaurants include Del Dante's,
and Hannah's
