In 1988 campus life was mediocre at best. 2 of the 3 dorms were run-down
and in bad shape. But from what i have seen they are in better shape and
have built more now. the main campus is nice and well laid out. Some
programs required travel to other facilities for certain labwork, for
example the civil engineering students had to travel to Planfield once a
week to conduct labs in a surveying field. The neighboorhood is rough,
with Mission Hill and the projects up the street you learned to be
careful off campus. But Wentworth has armed police for security and the
entire area is under juristiction of 6 different public and private
police forces. Generally it was about as safe as anywhere else in Boston
at the time.
