Career prospects vary with the major a student chooses. The Commerce/Business
school has a very good network of recruiters and often places students in jobs
before graduation. Other courses of study are feeders for post-graduate
studies.
The journalism school, which I graduated from, is a tight-knit group and
professors will do they can to get a student a job. However, there are no set
recruiters and students are responsible for setting up interviews and job
searches. The department has a few sources and contacts at different media
organizations, but it is up to the student to take advantage of those.
