Wash U allows many, many opportunities for student participation and
many leadership opportunities. Above all, the opportunities to get
involved with various well-funded clubs and groups made the high price
of tuition worth attending (rugby, crew, greek life, etc.)
Social life was fun, if not inspiring. I participated in the Greek
system, but it was definitely not the same experience as at a large
school.
Also, one thing to note is that I also attended at a time when Wash U
still allowed kegs in freshman dorms... much has changed, and not quite
sure how social life has changed due to increasingly strict alcohol
rules.
Specifically, the Delmar Loop had some great bars and restaurants. In
general, Wash U was a "fun" experience.
