Wagner College was included in the second year in a row in The
Princetons Review's "2004 Best 351 Colleges" guide in the "Quality of
Life-Beautiful campus" listing. The college is now 3rd place in ranks.
Housing is based upon students learning community assignments. Housing
assignments for first year students are completed by the end of July and
students must complete an extensive survey. Students must complete
an "Academic Advisement Form" and "Housing Application" by the
deadlines. However, the following forms must be turned in to guarantee
a room is reserved of which include the "Residence Hall Living
Contract", "Health Insurance Information" and "New Student Services
Questionnaire Housing." After the first year when students are placed
they select a living situation through a lottery system or specific
roommate request. Students have the discretion to choose a single,
double or suite based upon which building they will be living in. The
residence halls are Towers, Guild, and Harbor View.
Campus facilities include the Spiro Sports Center, which provides
athletics and recreational facilities for all members of Wagner College
Community. The gymnasium is used for Wagner's Division 1 Basketball
Team, and Volleyball Team. Pool swim and polo teams have access to a
six lane NCAA regulation-sized pool. Students who wish to use the pool
as a recreational source can also do so when the teams are not
practicing or competing. Free-weight facility and fitness center are
very popular on campus as well as the Dance Studio that provides
aerobics and yoga classes. Outdoor athletics embody a football stadium
and baseball field.
Outside the scope of athletics Spiro Hall & Computer Center is available
to many students who wish to surf the internet or complete a class
project using an array of computer software programs.
Dining can be choosen at one of Wagner's five on campus locations. The
Dining Hall is on the lower level of the Union and offer breakfast,
lunch, and dinner. Students can pay by cash or with a meal plan on
their student id card. This eatery offers an array of items from salad
bar items to pastas to gourmet desserts. Second, IncrEdibles in the
union is a la carte. It has to go sandwiches, sushi, muffins, and
pastries. Third, Della Noce is in the Dining Hall, in the Trattoria is
also a la carte. Has a variety of sandellas from flatbreads, to
quesadillas to pizza, soups and nachos can also be purchased here. A
student can order takeout food from here too. Fourth, The Wag, is in the
basement of Cunard Hall and sells chili, asprin, bottled beverages to
magazines. Lastly, Real Smooth, is located in Spiro Center. It is a
smoothy cart that offers favorite flavors and only accepts cash.
Security in Residence halls are provided by Resident Assistants (RA's)
and Security officers who rountinely patrol the outside and inside of
the residence halls. All student guests must sign-in at the residence
hall desks of Harbor View, Guild, and Towers halls. Prior to students
entering their residence hall they must electronically scan their
student identification cards to unlock the computerized high-security
locks to enter the building. At Harbor View and Towers Hall security
officers are at the front desk from midnight to 7:00 a.m. seven days a
week and desk attendants are on duty from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
