The social life at Villanova tends to be party-focused in the early
years and bar-focused in the latter years of a student's career there.
Villanova is a "dry campus" on the books but students easily find their
way around that little rule. Parties are usually Greek-sponsored and a
focal point of most early college life. Students are known for their
intense involvement in extra-curricular activities and are continually
rated as the #1 most involved student body in the country in hours of
involvement in volunteer projects. Villanova plans and hosts the
Pennsylvania Fall Festival of the Special Olympics every year. The
Villanova student body builds at least 20 homes all over the world each
year through Habitat for Humanity Service trips in which students give
up their fall or spring break to build homes for people in need. Its
Greek system is heavily-involved in both fundraising and service hours
for philanthropy projects as well as sponsoring on- and off-campus
events for students. Other campus groups sponsor activities such as
movies, concerts, games, and trips for student diversion.
