The application did not seem any worse than usual. One or two essays on
top of basic questions. The questions were normal admissions questions,
about where you would like to be, what has been the defining
characteristic of your life, etc. It changes every year or two. There
was not an interview. Based on the published statistics of the incoming
classes while I attended, they focused heavily on grades and
extracurricular activities. Median SAT scores were higher than the
national average, and a majority of incoming freshmen were in the top
15% of their class. After I visited they really put the full court
press on to get me enrolled. Cards, invitations to open houses,
letters, students contacting me to see if I had any questions. In the
end that constant contact broke a stalemate between 'Nova and another
school, since it seemed to me that if they wanted to put that much
attention to me as a prospective student they would likely take more
time with me as a student.
