Selectivity is very high. The admissions process has become
CONSIDERABLY more competitive since I applied. For example, SAT scores
now overlap more with schools like Boston College and Notre Dame as
opposed to schools such as Providence or Fairfield. Villanova is trying
to establish itself as the preeminent Catholic University in the
Northeast, and to this end its standards have increased dramatically.
The number of applicants has increased as well, so get your application
in on time and as early as you can.
When I applied the essay question was with regard to what you would
tell your classmates at a 10 year reunion. I found this to be a breath
of fresh air as opposed to the traditional personal statement theme.
Tips on how to get in: earn excellent grades, get a great SAT score and
be very well rounded in co-curricular activities, especially with
regard to philanthropic involvements. Good luck and Go Wildcats!!
