While Greek life was certainly a large presence on campus, I found my
community in music and never felt like I was missing out because I
wasn't partying on Greek Row.
Nashville itself isn't a huge city, but it had a nice set of
opportunities available, from clubs and bars to a high-quality symphony
and art museum.
Favorites included live music at Radio Cafe on 14th St. S or Tootsie's
Orchid Louge & Bluegrass Inn on Broadway, two-stepping at the Wildhorse
Saloon on 2nd Ave or Silverado on Murfreesboro Rd., cheeseburgers on
french bread at Rotier's on Elliston -- they claim it was Buffett's
original inspiration when he used to play frat parties on campus, beers
of the world at the Flying Saucer on Broadway, fried chicken at
Loveless Cafe outside of town, beans and three at Calyspo Cafe on
Elliston, oh...and dessert trays at Bound'ry on 20th Ave or Sunset
Grill off of 21st.
