Admission & Application Survey |
| Undergraduate Program |
The best advice on getting in to Vanderbilt is to get good grades and be
involved in high school. This is of course the best way to get in to
any school, but it is a necessity at Vanderbilt. Getting good grades is
important, but you must take advantage of advanced-level courses (if
available) at your high school to succeed as an applicant. As a former
intern in the admissions office, I saw first hand that the admissions
process favors students who are involved and especially those who hold
leadership positions in their outside activities. Holding leadership
positions is more important than being involved in a multitude of
activites. Essays are required and test scores are also an important
factor. Be sure that essays are free of typographical or other careless
errors. Vanderbilt is selective. The admissions officers are looking
for those applicants that stand out.
