For first year students Cartier is the best. The others have communal showers and bathrooms whereas in Cartier you share a bathroom with 1-3 people. A new residence is supposed to be built, but I don't know if it's complete yet. Food at Vanier Hall is hit and miss, but at the CAW it's o.k. There are decent houses nearby and rent will be competitive. West of the bridge there is a police station and a short walk from there will bring you to the prison. Many students hang out at the CAW centre the campus pub and radio station are underneath it.
