Amazing. Lots of fun with lots of very nice people. Numerous parties
and activities every weekend. Usually students begin to party on
Thursday night and don't stop until Sunday. Many bars and restaurants in
the local area. Most of my commentary for this section was provided
above in "Quality of Life." UVA was never boring. Known for the
physical beauty of its students and for its large sports programs and
achievements in the ACC (one of the best soccer, football, basketball and
lacrosse universities), UVA gets visited every once in a while by Playboy
Magazine to do a "Women of the ACC" issue. Girls line up to pose nude.
Football games are always a huge party that blocks up traffic for miles
in all directions. Basketball games are also lots of fun. Although many
of the best American soccer players have done stints at UVA including US
National Team players (and coach Bruce Arena), soccer tends to be less
popular than football and basketball and has a much smaller stadium.
UVA has a tradition of "streaking the Lawn" where students have
traditionally shed their clothes and run down the center of campus naked
at night with friends. Although this can lead to arrests for public
indecency, law enforcement hasn't been able to stop students from
performing this rite. Almost everyone I know has streaked the Lawn at
least once during their four years at UVA.
