I was applying from a small public HS in the north where no one had ever
been admitted into UVa. In fact, I was informed by a few people that
there was little point in applying to the school at all. UVa was very
helpful in getting me prompt information and encouraging me to apply.
There applications were refreshingly open ended compared to many of the
other schools I had looked at as well. In the end, their December 1st
notification date for early admisions encouraged me to only apply to UVa
as it allowed plenty of time to send in other forms had I not been
offered admission. Being accepted that early allowed me to relax for
the res tof my senior year and avoid the terrible stress I saw many of
my friends going through until and past graduation.
