Outstanding. I have most of my friends from college at UT austin. There
are over 700 student organizations that you can join, including
professional, social, greek life, student government, and more. There
is an annual event called "Forty Acres Fest" which is a huge celebration
across the university and the organizations, entertainment/talent shows,
competitions for the most outstanding/professional/etc organization on
campus as well, that only icreases the interest/participation.
Bars/Clubs: There are multiple locations, primarily in the 6th street
area of the city. THis is a strip of clubs/bars, including some that are
18 and up. The police/security is very tight on the ID/drinking age
issues, but you will always find a way to enjoy. The street along most
of campus is known as "the drag" (Guadalupe street) and includes many
resteraunts, coffee shops, bookstores, street vendors, and retail
stores. You can live, work and go to class all within a small area of a
great city!!!
