Quality of Life Survey
Full-time Engineering Undergraduate Program Please provide a detailed account of the program with respect to quality of life issues, including housing, campus, facilities, dining, neighborhood and crime & safety. The quality of life in Austin is great for a student. Austin is a young town that is not too big, and not too small, a town that is booming. Campus dorms can be a bit crowded, but usually most students move out after the first year. Public transportation is very good. Transportation via UT buses is excellent, and it spreads across a 10-15 mile radius around the campus, which is a huge area. On campus area dining is great with many options for all types of diet preferences. Even around campus there are many places to eat, so dining (affordable!!!) is not a problem even for the most fussy person. Apart from E. Austin, the rest of the town is quite safe like almost any other town. Austin is generally much safer than Dallas, Houston, etc. The campus is very safe as students roam the premises around the clock.
