| Full-time Undergraduate Business Program |
Admissions is pretty standard. Submit SAT scores, letters of
recomendation, GPA. I believe only one letter of rec is required, but if
you can get more, it can only help you.
A high SAT score is well looked upon as I believe they are actively
trying to recruit "better" students and the SAT average is always a
leading indicator. At the time I applied, it was almost an unwritten
rule that those with 1500+ SAT scores were offered a Trustee scholarship
(full tuition) and those with 1450-1500 were offered Presidential
scholarships (half tuition). Those numbers and requirements may have
changed now, but I wouldn't doubt if they were similar and were raised
10 or 20 points. So, if you are planning on attending and have these SAT
scores, I would highly recommend applying for these scholarships (as
these have an earlier deadline and an additional required essay.)
National Merit Finalists were also guaranteed Presidential Scholarships
at the time I applied (contingent upon if they put USC as their college
of choice on the National Merit profile).
Interviews are an optional (if I recall correctly) part of the process,
but will be very helpful if you are a borderline candidate. It will show
a great level of interest if you set one up.
My perception of the students in the undergrad business program were
that they were all UCLA rejects. This is unfortunate since there is such
a great rivalry and since I believe USC is a much better school than
UCLA in terms of Business preparation.
