Full-time undergraduate program UNLV is a commuter school. It is set a couple blocks off the strip in a relatively commercial area. I lived at home with my parents and commuted to school. After class I was off to work or back at home. UNLV's facilities in itself are adequate, they finished the new library right after I graduated, and I hear that thing is supposed to be amazing. I never worried about crime while I was on campus, I would say the campus itself is a really safe environment. I think some of the apartments immediately surrounding the campus would not be my first choice to live in, I would live in Green Valley and commute into school. It's only 15 minutes, and Green Valley is much nicer. There are a lot of options within the area for dining, that shouldn't be a problem.
