The BBA program is a junior & senior year program. Unlike other
undergraduate business programs, this is to promote a broad liberal
arts background with specialized business knowledge. Thus entry is
dependent upon a rich first 2 years - in academics, extracurriculars,
and leadership activities. Most students are taken from the main
college of U of M - Literature, Sciences & the Arts. It has been known
that a great GPA with sparse activities will not cut it. The
prerequisites are known to be tough - both in content and curve-wise to
differentiate a strong applicant pool. Essays are key as most
applicants have similar credentials. For those who make it through the
weeder courses, a class only takes about 300 students to maintain
exclusivity and reputation.
