The quality of life at Umass is generally good. Housing is very good
for students who do not enjoy noise and ruckus, but if you are a student
who enjoys socializing on the weekend, make sure you choose your living
area right, because if not you will be written up for everthing from
being caught with a beer can, to hearing ping pong balls bouncing in
your room (beer pong). There are places to hit emergency buttons all
over campus, so it is pretty safe. There are umass and amherst police
everywhere, and the dorms are pretty big. I think the food is good, but
after a while it gets real old and real bad. Here is a quick rundown of
the stereotypes for living areas on campus:
Orchard Hill-Nerds,
Sylvan-In the middle of nowhere,
Central-Pot heads,
NorthEast-Gays, Lesbians,
Southwest-Party People
