On campus residential housing was sufficient, and some halls more
desirable than others. Facilities were sufficient, some obviously better
than others. The new engineering campus offers more than before. Crime
and safety were not usually issues if you could be sure to take public
transportation, walk with someone, get a ride or use the escort service
provided by the university. Women were not encouraged to walk alone at
night.
