When I graduated with a B.S. in Cell and Molecular biology I did not think that
there were many job opportunities for me, but was I wrong! I had several job
opportunities immediately and in the four and a half years since I graduated have
never had difficulty finding openings for which I am qualified.
Career placement resources at UIUC are allright but I found all of my
post-college jobs through personal networking.
Most employers in the Midwest are impressed to see a graduate from UIUC. I
don't know if that extends to a national level but it definitely gives an edge
locally.
In addition, I think that most graduate programs are impressed to see students
from UIUC.
